Mitjet series was born in France in 2012, when a famous race driver Jean-Philippe Dayraut decided to establish a new class of racing, which anyone could take part in. The series proved established itself in the national championships of France, Italy, Denmark, Germany and the USA. In 2015 Arctic Energy brought the series to Russia, by becoming its official promoter and distributor. The company chose Sochi Autodrome, the official Formula 1 track, as the team’s headquarters.

Mitjet Series Russia is gaining popularity fast. In 2016 the series received the official Russian Cup status from RAF. In the same year, Mitjet had successful joint competitions with such famous global and Russian racing series as the The FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), The TCR International Series and Russian Circuit Racing series. However, the most memorable event in the history of the series was its cooperation with Formula 1 championship. Mitjet Series Russia was the first and only one in Russia authorized to act as the support race for Formula 1 competition. In 2016 Mitjet opened the “royal race” FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX 2016 in Sochi. In 2017 it repeated its success by acting as the support race for FORMULA 1 VTB RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX 2017.
