Arctic Energy team completed the fourth round of the Mitjet International Series at Misano, co-hosted by the GT World Challenge Europe. In Italy the team was represented by Sebastien Seveau, Povilas Jankavicius and Mikhail Makarovsky. During the weekend Sebastien Seveau continued a tight fight for the leadership in the championship with the young Louis Rousset. Mikhail Makarovsky improved his results in the Gentlemen category. And for Povilas Jankavičius this stage was the first of the season in Mitjet International competition.
"For me, this is the first race in the French championship this season ... Nevertheless, I have the pace, despite the fact that I missed half of the season" - said Povilas.
According to the results of qualification in the first race, Sebastien Seveau started from the second position, Povilas from the fourth, and Mikhail Makarovsky from the thirteenth place. In the first race Sebastien and Povilas Jankavicius shared the podium in second and third places, with Povilas having the best lap times. Mikhail Makarovsky broke into fourth place in the Gentlemen category.
The second race was remembered for a very bright fight between the Arctic Energy drivers and the championship leader Louis Rousset for the first place. For most of the race Louis defended himself with all his might against Sebastien and Povilas, but just before the finish, Seveau drove Rousset in a slip-stream. And there was little contact between the cars, which Povilas quickly took advantage of: he took the second position and created a comfortable "buffer" for Seveau, pushing Louis into third place and thus allowing his teammate to score more points against Louis for the title of Series Champion. Mikhail Makarovsky took the third place in the "Gentlemen", and in the overall standings he finished at 6th place out of 35 cars.
Povilas finished the third race in second place behind Louis Rousset, starting from 8th place, and Seveau ended the race prematurely due to a technical malfunction of the car. In the category of "Gentlemen" Mikhail Makarovsky rose to the second step.
“I think it will be a very interesting race, because everyone will show their maximum without looking at their rivals. At the final race, everyone always goes literally as if they were torn off!" - said Povilas Jankavicius before the final race.
The race was indeed full of tight battles until the appearance of two safety cars. And the pilots of Arctic Energy made their way through half of the peleton because of the reverse start (from the 9th and 10th places). As a result, the main duel broke out for the second place between Seveau and Lorenzo. Sebastien made many attempts to get ahead of the opponent, until Povilas passed him. At the finish line, a few meters before the finish flag, Povilas let go of the accelerator and gave the third place to Sebastien due to important championship points for Seveau, since the team's priority for this season is the championship title for Sebastien.
Summarazing, Arctic Energy team had a successful weekend on the Italian Misano track, our drivers took 8 prizes in 4 races, and Sebastien Seveau continues to fight for the championship title in Mitjet International Series 2021.
“The racing weekend turned out to be great for us, I am extremely pleased with the result. I would like to thank the Mitjet series for excellent YouTube streaming of all four races. I am glad that the audience slowly appears in the stands. In general, it was a real racing holiday!" - said the owner of the Arctic Energy racing team, Sergey Egorov.
The next Mitjet International round will take place on September 10-12 at the Ledenon track in France together with the FFSA GT4, and Arctic Energy will return to the legendary Monza circuit on July 9-10 for the fourth round of the Ligier European Series, held in conjunction with the European Le Mans Series.
