Команда Arctic Energy стала 9 в своей группе в легендарной Giraglia Rolex Cup!
Arctic Energy team has become the 9th in its group in the legendary Giraglia Rolex Cup!

While the Russian national team confidently wins the match after match in the World Cup, Arctic Energy is not far behind and shows good results in one of the most famous races of the Mediterranean!

This year, 121 yachts sailed the distance of 243 nautical miles (from Saint-Tropez to Genoa, past the Giraglia cliff off the northern coast of Corsica). Unfortunately, 11 teams could not cope with severe weather conditions, and did not reach the finish line.

An excellent start, a tight fight and at the finish just a few meters were shared by two Russian teams, as a result, the crew of Arctic Energy are the ninth in its group, and last year’s winner of the Giraglia Rolex Cup team TP52 Freccia Rossa Vadim Yakimenko is the seventh overall.

“I rate Giraglia as successful globally. A long winter break and the lack of a full-fledged training program affected the team not in the best way. I am sure that if preparation was 100%, one could claim a higher position. Nevertheless, our semi-professional crew was able to compete with serious professional teams. It is gratifying that, despite the difficult weather conditions, there were no breakdowns and injuries, and we came to the finish line in full force. It took our team 30 hours, 30 minutes and 26 seconds to overcome 243 nautical miles. In the conditions of tough struggle, we showed an excellent result,” shared his impressions the team captain Valentin Zubkov.

In addition, Vikesha 2 team of Oleg Evdokimenko, which according to the results of the overall standings came 22nd, and the crew of Frogfoot Sergei Bryuzgi, which became 34th in the final standings, were under the Russian flag.
