The first time we stood together under the Arctic flag was in 2008, when we took part in an international hockey tournament in Courchevel against amateur teams. Later, in 2011, we got the idea to invite teams from all Arctic Council countries to the ice hockey arena. We competed against teams from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, USA and Canada. This was the first step towards the Arctic Cup tournament, which turned out to be a spectacular event. Later the same year, we finalized this grand project called the Arctic Cup, which by now has evolved into several major independent political, social and economic activities: “Arctic, the Territory of Friendship” international conference, “Polar Star” international literature awards, “Sports Films for Children” international film festival, and finally, “The Modern Look at the Arctic” photo exhibition.

In 2012 we built a team of young hockey players and a separate Arctic Junior tournament, which gave a chance to the younger generation to prove themselves in this exciting game. Our events received a wide public response and were enthusiastically supported by the government of St. Petersburg, the global ice hockey community, national ice hockey federations of the Arctic Council and personally by René Fasel, Chairman of the International Ice Hockey Federation, President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak, President of the Association of Polar Explorers of Russia, famous explorer and scientist Arthur Chilingarov. Professional athletes and public figures such as Vladislav Tretyak, Glenn Adnerson, Boris Mikhailov, Vladimir Petrov, Esa Tikkanen, Paul Stewart and other world sports celebrities took active part in our activities.

Since 2012, the Arctic World Club team has been successfully competing at GT TOUR international closed-circuit motor racing championship in France, in the unique Mitjet amateur racing series. With all the emotional pitch and excited feedback from the competition participants, the club could not help but include these motorsports series in the list of its priority projects. This is how Mitjet Series Russia (MSR) was born in 2015. In 2016 and 2017 the series was the first and only one in Russia authorized to act as the support race for Formula 1 competition. MSR held joint events with world racing series: DTM, WTCC and TCR. In 2018, Russian Arctic Energy World Rally Team was established, which will be competing in the World Rally Championship in the 2018 season.

Sailing races became a true revelation for the club. We took part in the most prestigious races in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. In 2015 Arctic Energy Yachting team ranked 2nd in Copa del Rey regatta, in 2017 – came third in the legendary Rolex Middle Sea Race.

The club is engaged in active charity activities, including support of youth sports and special education programs for children in third-world countries.
